My three contemporary brands:

Nivea

Nivea is a skin care product company which is very successful. It is a brand with high quality products, and is worldwide known thanks to its characteristic navy blue and white colours of packaging. The brand Nivea has a strong philosophy of brand identity, universality, basic trust, values, communicating effectively through advertisements and product samples.

Nivea’s vision is to be the number 1 skin product, and to be the most purchased skincare product there is. The mission of Nivea is developing innovative skin care products designed to help individuals to obtain healthy looking skin. Their whole image is constantly being updated, customers know and trust them. Both men and women can use its products, it is truly a great brand.

My personal feeling towards this brand is I just love it! I use a lot of Nivea products like cream, lip balm, shampoo, roll on, shower gel and moisturiser etc. My experience with this product is only positive – skin feels amazing after applying the product, it leaves me with a fresh and clean feeling. I would happily recommend this brand to anyone. One of my favourite products is Nivea shower moisturiser, which is really effective and very useful. After applying it skin feels soft and smells divine!

Consumers know the colours of Nivea are used to it, I would not change anything in this product’s packaging. They have build a strong image, and Nivea will be on the market for a long time to come.

Nivea company started in 1882 in Germany, and it has grown so much since then, it has become known and recognised globally. I would use their effectiveness to inspire my own designs, try to form the trust they have gained in their own products, and mirror it  in mine as well.

Walt Disney

Walt Disney was founded by Walter Elias Disney in 1923. Walt Disney’s employees and cast members make magic happen while meeting their business needs.

Walt Disney’s mission and vision state that the reason why Disney has such a positive reputation is because they deliver a seamless magical experience to their guests.

Theme parks, hotels, restaurants and retail stores – Disney is a major success and has placements and movies worldwide. It is a very strong, powerful and successful brand. Children love Disney, many grow up with the brand.  Parents and children trust it, and happily buy variety of offered products making Disney a part of their life.

My personal feeling is; I grew up with Disney and am familiar with all the famous stories and characters. Before I graduated I went to Europe where I have encountered a Disney shop. the shop was filled to the brim with Disney toys, puppets, souvenirs, key chains etc. there were so many products that I did not know where to look! The place was really amazing and it made me feel like a kid again. Disney is a worldwide known brand and will be known for ever and ever. Lion King and Micky Mouse are my ultimate favourites, but overall I love all Disney characters.

Disney brand and image needs no change since they are already very successful, and their logo is very well done – perfect really, looking at it brings that feeling of magic. I would like to incorporate the magic of Disney into my own brand, and make my own designs appealing and inspiring.

Paramount picture studio

Paramount Pictures Corporation (commonly known as Paramount Pictures or simply Paramount) is a film and television production/ distribution studio, consistently ranked as one of the largest and top-grossing film studios. Paramount is a member of the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA). They are one of the oldest motion picture companies.

It has distributed various commercially successful films such as Shrek, Transformers, Mission Impossible, Indiana Jones, The Godfather, Star Trek, Jackass, Paranormal Activity, Friday the 13th and G.I. Joe to name a few.

In 2014 Paramount Pictures became the first big Hollywood studio to distribute all its films in digital form only.

Paramount’s mission and vision are to remain as one of the most famous studios there are, and to keep producing high quality films.

The studio’s first logo – a symbol of a rugged, snow-covered peak from the Watch mountain range was created in 1916. The 100th Anniversary logo was created by Devastudios Inc.

Paramount has used the logo which was mentioning its 100th anniversary throughout its centennial year in 2012. In 2013 the wording about the 100th anniversary was removed from the logo, with the rest of the design untouched.

My personal feeling toward Paramount is that I recognise their logo when I see it on the screen at the beginning of any movie that was created by that studio. I have watched a few movies created by Paramount. I would not change anything because they also grew as a brand which started small and raised to the top. They have been around for a long time.

My three people brands;

Beyoncé

She is a global icon a role model for young girls, teens and women. She  balances family and work, and copes well with the celebrity spotlight. She is a major inspiration for people, many trust her, and look up to her. Beyonce, the woman of branding is like the girl next door. Companies like Pepsi involve her in their campaigns, because she has a positive influence on their brand. Beyoncé has her own music, clothing line, a range of fragrances,  and she does advertisements for Pepsi.

Beyoncé’s philosophy boils down to the fact that she can do anything –  she took some business advice from her father, and carried it with her throughout her career as a businesswoman.

I’m convinced that her mission and vision are to remain in the spotlight, and to inspire women to follow their dreams. She continues work on her successful brand that people know and trust. Beyoncé’s image is success and living her dream.

Katy Perry

She is an artist, businesswoman, philanthropist and an actress. She is also the third best-selling digital singles artist in the US. She is influenced by Freddie Mercury and says he is her biggest music influence.

She has an eye for detail, she is classy and hardworking. Coming forward as a lady but the bossy type. She has a sense for fashion and creative outfits. She makes me think of someone who is stuck in a fantasy world. She uses bright, popping colours in her outfits, make up and stage props. Her brand is bright and successful, apart from her music she has released a range of perfumes.

I would say her Vision and Mission is hoping to continue achieving and just staying successful.

Michael Jordon

Michael Jordan has been a spokesman for Nike, Coca-Cola, Chevrolet, McDonald’s and many more. He is one of the most famous people on the planet.

He appeared in the movie Looney Tunes, and he used a big basketball star. His branding includes among others; cups, sneakers, watches and wallets.

His mission and vision are his work ethic, he is a role model for all athletes, he keeps his priorities straight, and puts others before himself. Michael Jordan focuses on something and accomplishes it. His brand is strong and known, everyone is familiar with him.
